Arabic Calligraphy

Thuluth Workshop (3 Hours)

When: Saturday 26th October 2024

Entry fee: £25 per person (please buy a ticket for each attendee)

Where: Oxford University, Wellington Square, Oxford OX1 2JD (Room TBC)

Join us for a 3 hour lesson in Arabic calligraphy, using traditional tools. Learn how to write the alphabet and make a final composition on tanned calligraphy paper.

What’s included:

• Demonstration of pen cutting
• Practicing Arabic letters and words
• Writing sentences
• Making artwork on calligraphy paper
• Workbook provided for keeping

Ticketing: Upon purchasing a ticket, you will recieve an order confirmation, and your name will be added to a register. So when attending the workshop you can just state your name or the name of the person who put the order in.

Refund Policy: This event relies on ticket sales, and both materials and travel arragements need to be paid prior to the event, as such the tickets are non-refundable. However, if the event is re-sheduled or cancelled for any reason, you will be notified and have the option to recieve a refund if you cannot attend.

Minimum Age: Minimum age 14. As it’s an introductory class and we’ll be using wooden pens, this class is suitable for people aged 14 and above.
